Review of Life of Pi (2012) by Steven T — 23 Apr 2014
Ang Lee's Life of Pi is an amazing technical achievement, with a powerful story which makes it all the better. The CGI for Richard Parker is fantastic, if I didn't already know I would've thought that was a real tiger, some of the green screen and CGI can look a bit less impressive in some scenes, but it can be gorgeous in others.
The story is very well told and compelling, I found myself anxious too get to the next scene just to see what would happen. The music is also noteworthy, every song suited each scene. My only real problem with the film is that Suraj Sharma's performance isn't great at the begging, but as the story moves along it does get better, and it wasn't even that bad to begin with.
