Review of Life of Crime (2013) by Nathan M — 19 Dec 2014
It could have been a little tighter and had a little more flair, but Life of Crime has enough solid performances and a smart enough script to maintain your interest throughout. Jennifer Aniston always surprises me with how talented she really is.
She completely sells this character and her arc, alongside of the always wonderful John Hawkes. With a great supporting cast and direction that allows each character to really be fleshed out, Life of Crime brings this Elmore Leonard novel to life.
Unfortunately, the style and visual flair of the film is too subdued to really reach Leonard's unique writing style. It's a little too bland, but overall interesting.
