Review of Life of Brian (1979) by Chris B — 15 Mar 2012
Here is another absurd and hilarious work in the Monty Python canon and chronicles the life of Brian, the baby next door to the manger where Jesus was born. The film follows his life and adventures and is another laugh out loud film that is filled with gags and insane dialogue that all adds up for a hilarious and fun watch! While I didn't enjoy it quite as much as "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" it was a close race.
Unlike the previously mentioned film which was only rated PG this one is rated R and has nudity, language and other mature elements throughout it and is recommended only for mature audiences. The film is a blast to watch and while completely insane, may offend those with religious beliefs that can't poke fun at their religions history.
For those that can get past this, "Monty Python's Life of Brian" is a nonsensical and absurd comedy that is hilarious and outrageous all at the same time. If you're a Monty Python fan then you have probably already seen this but for anyone else you should give it a watch if you aren't easily offended and can take a joke or several!
