Another intelligent and widely accessible film that not only shows the creators did some research but that they truly had a magic touch when it came to this kind of movie. It has one foot in historically based satire and another in just good old fashion lampoon.

While it is indeed a parody of the Biblical narrative, it is not outright disrespectful to Jesus. The one time Jesus does appear, he's not really doing anything silly. So anyone worried about blasphemy can shut up.

This tale of a man mistaken for a prophet is one of the best comedic films ever made.
