This one finds Mike Leigh in upbeat mood - so only a bit depressing - Broadbent and Steadman are excellent in this tale of family life living on border of povety - and whilst Timothy Spall gives a fine performance I have to wonder how on earth his character fits into all this and i'm sorry but just found Jane Horrocks incredibly annoying in this.
