Review of Life Is Beautiful (1997) by Ameliatheriault — 11 Feb 2019
In the movie, Life is Beautiful a guy named Guido found this woman named Dora, and he instantly falls in love with her. Guido ends up marrying Dora, and they have a son together, Joshua. Guido is Jewish, but Dora is not.
On Joshua’s birthday, Guido and Joshua were forced to get on a train to a concentration camp. Guido was confused but had a simple idea of what was happening. To Joshua, it was just a game to win points, and you win a prize.
Dora found out where her husband and son were going and wanted to sacrifice her life to go to the concentration camps, but again she was not Jewish. I would rate this movie a 7 or 8 and would recommend it because it is a good quality movie; it does have some laughter, but that’s not a bad thing.
I know this is a serious event that had happened, but it is good to get a laugh and be blessed this is no longer going on. Even though it isn’t the same as the book Night because the book was realistic and has more of a personal perspective, the movie and the book do have a few similarities because they both relate to the Holocaust.
