Review of Life Is Beautiful (1997) by Daniel C — 16 May 2011
A beautiful movie that shows the glowing optimism among the toughest times. Benigni is magnificent and really pulls the supporting characters along. I enjoyed the parallels with Chaplin's The Great Dictator and the satire of it all, including a brilliant scene where Benigni explains why the Italians are the best race.
Not only one of the best 90s movies but one of the best period.
