Review of Life as a House (2001) by Nhia T — 25 Mar 2012
The overall feel of this movie just strikes you after watching it. Maybe it's because I'm a sensitive person by nature, but this movie got me tearing up by the end. I adore movies that can do such a thing because it doesn't happen much anymore.
When I first watched this movie, I got a sense of calm about it. Even though the destructive scenes between George (Kevin Kline) and Sam (Hayden Christiansen) were chaotic, there always was a sense that things were going to get better.
This movie also made me realize the things in my life that I should change because one it's gone, it's gone and there's no way of getting it back. Reconnection with family members that were once a big part of your life is a must after watching this movie because you never know when things will suddenly disappear.
