Review of Life (2017) by Greg B — 14 Apr 2017
"Life" is a science fiction thriller about an alien life form from Mars that gets harnessed by the International Space Station. The astronauts first think it is an evolutionary marvel but quickly discover it is hell bent on destroying them all.
This film is overall compelling and suspenseful and has enough story to make for a sustainable science fiction thriller. It is not predictable in the least, and by the ending the stakes are sufficiently raised to make for more than popcorn fodder mayhem and carnage.
The alien is a formidable villain, and the film really makes us question mans place in the universe and how invulnerable he really is, if at all. This is a smart film overall --------------------------------------------------- B.
