I had heard the mixed reviews before watching LIFE so I had pretty low expectations for it. And also, I think I am really experiencing space movie burnout. After GRAVITY, there's been so many damn space movies.

And the majority have been really good, but the excitement for them is starting to slack off, at least for me.... But I REALLY liked LIFE. Of course, you can see how the film borrows and pays homage to ALIEN.

That is beyond obvious. But it is different in so many ways. The cast is great, especially Ferguson & Gyllenhaal. The camera work & score is outstanding. And THAT twist, man!! Pulled off so well.

I am surprised to have enjoyed it so much.
