Review of Life (2017) by Jak-Luke S — 23 Jul 2017
The love child of Gravity and Alien proves to be a tension filled chaotic ride on board such atmospheric isolated setting. Its this that excels Life instead of a carbon copy of its predecessor. Performances are strong with all the cast having good chemistry and depth.
Ferguson is strong in a commanding role with Reynolds focusing on his comedic nature but when the film turns he showcases great seriousness. Gyllenhaal comes into his own in the second and third act with a really great performance.
Espinosa takes a predictable and tired concept and adds something rather fun yet frightening at the same time.
