The first Bond movie with an original title not taken from an Ian Fleming novel! After The Living Daylights, the writers knew that Dalton was an actor who would take Bond to limits Roger Moore never would, and wrote this; the darkest, grittiest Bond up to that time.
Audiences completely rejected it, but it remains one of the best, and most violent (it was the first Bond movie to get a PG-13 rating), in the series.
