Review of Licence to Kill (1989) by Sam D — 07 Jan 2013
This is my first time watching Dalton as Bond. And while I loved a lot about it, and him, there were also some down sides. I think Dalton is almost *too* serious. He's not witty enough - they give him witty lines to say - but the delivery just didn't feel right to me. But his more dramatic turn fits awesomely well with the revenge plot line.
And I love revenge stories.
The plot of this movie does sort of drag at times though - but I found that all the action sequences kicked ass. The one that really stands out is the whole end 18 wheeler chase sequence. And slowly becoming an mega fan of James Bond I'm really willing to overlook all the shaky narrative. It's all good fun - albeit in a darker way that would eventually lead to Goldeneye and eventually the Daniel Craig era.
