Review of Liar Liar (1997) by Baurushan J — 26 Aug 2012
The story is about Jim Carrey who plays a constantly lying lawyer named Fletcher Reede and because of this, he has broken up with his wife and is not in good relationship with his son Max. Fletcher repeatedly promises that he will come to his son's birthday but when an important assignment comes up at work, he makes an excuse to stay out so flimsy that even his son can see through it.
When the time comes for Max to blow the candles, he makes a wish for one day, 24 hours straight his dad couldn't tell a lie to make Fletcher realize how bad of a father he's been causing Fletcher to go crazy at work the very instant at work trying to force himself to say the truth by fighting himself in court and testing his speech until both of Max's parents finally realize that it was all because Max made that wish on his birthday.
Finally after 24 hours, he learns to tell the truth making himself reuniting with Max and his wife. Yet funny, this movie taught us one obvious lesson: Don't trust liars or another: Being a lawyer will make you guilty.
Ever since The Mask and Batman Forever, Jim Carrey has yet rose with this film to the A-list category and made us all proud. Liar Liar gets a true 10/10.
