Review of Letters from Iwo Jima (2006) by Memo N — 12 Oct 2010
Just when you thought the world didn't need yet another WWII film, along comes one of the bleakest, and best, ever to grace the screen. Following in All Quite's footsteps, it's an emotional portrayal of the Japanese side during WWII, showing that oftentimes our enemies aren't all that different from you and I.
All told, it's one of Eastwood's greatest achievements, and stands a good chance at going down as his final masterpiece.
