To Asian P.-Japanese annexation of Korea lasted from 1910 to 1945. Maybe he is confusing Korea with Taiwan (but he would still be wrong). China, Korea, Taiwan are three entirely distinct, separate nations-they in no way present a united perspective on a given topic.
As for the movie itself, it's not as good as either Saving Private Ryan or The Thin Red Line, but still pretty good.
