Review of Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971) by Susan P — 30 Oct 2009
A creepy, atmospheric 70's film that is scary without being gross. It suffers from a title that doesn't really fit the movie at all. It's about a woman who's released from a hospital for mental illness, and moves with her husband and friend into a secluded farmhouse in a strange town.
There's a woman living there already as a squatter, and being hippy-ish, they take her in. Jessica starts seeing and hearing things again, and the other woman moves on in to not just the house...is she paranoid or is she really seeing and hearing things? It's one of those kinds of psychological thrillers.
I liked it a lot.
