Review of Let's Go to Prison (2006) by Samantha H — 23 Apr 2008

This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in years. I'm so glad that comedies are finally working towards realism a little more. Back in the classic days of John Candy early-eighties comedies, there was always a (slightly) plausable storyline. Lately, we've been knee-deep in movie satire to the point that a film like this is very refreshing.

This film avoids a lot of the more obvious crudities, remains very accurate to the story context, and other than maybe ONE long stretch of the imagination, a pretty good movie overall.

Dax Shepard is hilarious, witty, and full of raw, real personality. His lines throughout this film never seemed to stop drawing laughter. I will be watching his career with great interest.
