Review of Let's Go to Prison (2006) by Guido S — 31 Jan 2014
Dax Shepard is a product of the criminal justice system and always seems to be incarcerated. When he gets out, he wants to get revenge on the judge who has sentenced him, but learns he is dead and his son, Will Arnett, would be just as good. So he gets him arrested, but learns its not so fun just being on the outside, so he gets arrested and pleads to go to the same prison to make sure his stay is as bad as possible. He gives him the wrong advice and makes sure he gets the worst of everything. However, his plan backfires when Arnett starts to stand up for himself and ends up being the big guy in prison. Eventually, they get into a fight and it is made so only one will end up living by the corrupt guards.
I didn't know what to think of this going in, but I enjoyed it. It does some great things, especially with Dax and Arnett. It was much better than I thought it would be. It does have a bit of a weak ending, but I'm not sure what would be a good way to close this film out.
