Review of Let's Be Cops (2014) by Ian W — 18 Sep 2017
Today's pick comes straight from Netflix recently added.
Let's Be Cops takes an entertaining story, adds two great lead actors and a lot of humour. It's biggest selling point would have the be the chemistry between the two leads, Ryan (Jake Johnson) and Justin (Damon Wayans Jr), there back and fourth is brilliant, they play off each other well. The biggest laughs come from there attempt at being serious cops and how much fun they have doing it. Do not try this at home, I have a feeling it would go horribly wrong.
It's rare for an all out comedy to come along with such an entertaining story, the two are hard to overlap. I absolutely love this film, everything is done perfectly, it has a great balance between comedy and story. A lot of films find problems in this area. It's quite a common plot, a buddy cop film, with a twist. I'd recommend it to anyone though, I really enjoyed it.
