Review of Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) by Edgar C — 18 Nov 2013
The more the sequels that come out, the bigger the necessity for (take your pick):
I. Increase the action dose.
Ii. Increase the humor.
Iii. Increase its accessibility for modern (younger) viewers.
Iv. Increase the number of hot(?) female candidates for Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson).
So Richard Donner said: "Screw it. I'll pick all of the above!", and so, the series becomes more mainstream, forces more sentimental humor, brings more emotional punches to the audience so that the connection between Riggs and Murtaugh becomes more heartfelt (wait... what?), and decreases in manliness, the latter aspect being the one that made the old-school action films so great and different from what is seen today.
60/100.
