Review of Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) by Mike S — 15 Feb 2010
Few sequels are better than the first, almost all of them are terrible wastes of your fucking time. Alternate 1985 and hoverboards. But Lethal Weapon 2 is a monster of a film thanks to the slimy fucking bunch of South Africans.
I've never hated bad guys like these chappos and never felt more satisfied at the end when they were done away with. Riggs and his awesome mullet get a love interest which defeats the purpose of Riggs, who in the first film was a lovable suicidal maniac now more of a houseboy for the black guy.
He'd suck Glover's cock when the family was away, keep his shirts in the laundry room, eat with them, they fucking adopted his ass. They even have a romantic scene on a toilet, they look into each others eyes and don't even have to say a word.
I was watching it on the treadmill and had to get off the scene moved me so much. But then Psycho Riggs returns once his Eva Braun dies, he kills everyone in a fury rage and probably should have died so we wouldn't have had to live through the terrible sequels but life is horrible.
They introduced his awesome shoulder separation thing which becomes a running gag, awesome in this one not so much in the other two. The twist where the slimy South African cunt actually is the one who killed Mel's wife was unnecessary as it was not possible to hate those fucking apartheid motherfuckers anymore.
Joe Pesci was annoying but not nearly as annoying as he'd become in the later film. DIPLOMATIC IMMUNITY, oh really? Murtaugh cracks his black neck, shoots that motherfucker in the head and says IT'S JUST BEEN REVOKED.
Total oh yeah fist pump moment. Rad motherfucking film.
