Review of Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) by Dave H — 07 Aug 2010
Almost as fresh as the first, and even more fun. The intensity is dialed down a notch, and the goofiness - and true camaraderie of the duo - is dialed up. Dick and Mel's indulgence in the Stooges stuff doesn't detract from character (yet), the decaffeinated villains are the best in the whole series - in which the energy and magic flag after this entry.
But here, the energy, and these characters, are still lethal. Some surprisingly tender moments for an action flick too, and one of the best toilet scenes in cinema history. Mad Max meets the Cosby show indeed.
