(1987) Lethal Weapon.
ACTION/ COMEDY.
The movie that started the whole cop / buddy formula popular again which has set the tone for several other films to follow such as "Tango and Cash", "Shakedown", "The Other Guys", "Showdown" and many more. Improvised dialogue that works which can stray away from the plot but with smart and focused direction by Richard Donner it doesn't matter, it all works with an awesome action sequence near the end between a bus colliding with a car.
The extended version includes an extra scene involving Martin Riggs bringing down a crazed sniper and him paying a hooker a 100 dollars to watch TV with him so that he could find out more information about Dixie, the hooker who witnessed the suicidal death of Amanda Hunsucker.
4 out of 4 stars.
