Review of Let the Right One In (2008) by Dimity P — 22 Feb 2013
This is a film I have to see again. Let the Right One in is not your traditional horror film or vampire flick for that matter. It is structurally and cinematically one of the more deep, thought provoking and analyze worthy movies in the horror genre.
Let the Right One In is so much more than a horror film. I would even go so far to say that it really isn't horror, but more of a coming-of-age drama. This movie is very dark at times, putting what seem to be innocent children in some very hard situations. But throughout, even though there are tough situation, you can't help but give a little smile.
It has been over a week since I have seen Let the Right One In and thinking back I really wish I had viewed this in the screening room. It definitely deserves a number more viewings. Some really intelligent craft was at work when this film was made. I'm also to see how the American remake will live up. Let the Right One In is extremely original and the filmmakers did some outstanding work here. A Great film!
