Review of Let Me In (2010) by Pier — 23 Jan 2011
This adaptation is flat compared to the original. It has some strong points such as the photography and the effects, but honestly it is a very hollywood version (in the bad sense). The relationship between the characters is cheesy compared to the original, and adding the cop plot to add tension or the whole vampires-need-to-be-invited thing to make it more accesible to the american public is destroying all the originality of the book and swedish film.
As much as I love M Giaccino's work, the music is annoying half of the time... and do not add the much needed tension. The american version removed most of the character development, and tried to turn it into a horror film failing completely.
Very disappointing.
