It just didn't work for me. I loved the original which maybe why I'm so hard on the film but I don't have that connection with characters. It was shot nicely and had semi good dialogue, but the "horror" scenes were terrible.
They were extremely fake even though distantly shot. Abby was portrayed as more sinister in this version which created less connection between the audience and her. Still it was a decent movie which had some potential.
