Review of Let Me In (2010) by Collier W — 26 Sep 2012
Look, it's an excellent film. But, if you've seen the original 'Let the Right One In', then this is nothing. Somewhere in the focus to box the characters ever so slightly into Americanized stereotypes, the story loses a little bit of it's potency and as a retelling is ultimately unsuccessful as it doesn't improve in any way on it's predecessor, which could happily have existed without this retelling.
As a film in it's own right, it is gorgeous and well made. But, unfortunately the (very recent) standard set by the original, just blows it apart.
