Perhaps not as good as the original, but good on it's own terms. This has parts missing that were in the original, but also has some bits that weren't in the original. I was still disappointed with it.
Having read the book, I was hoping that it would be like it. Unfortunately not so. The book was brilliant, dark and gritty. This wasn't anything of the sort. Perhaps if I hadn't had read the book and watched the original then I may have enjoyed this more.
Not a bad film, but not brilliant either.
