Review of Let Me In (2010) by Spencer S — 11 May 2014
A rare blending of compassion and horror...who is the real monster? Abby or her caretaker? Owen or the bullies in school? I mean all of these characters have one thing in common: the taking of human life either real or imagined, most out of anger but only one out of sheer necessity. Astonishing and touching performances by the two young actors whose characterers need and love each other deeply, but there is no way for this pairing of hearts to have a happy ending.
Incredible score is tender when it needs to be, but fraught with dread and mystery the rest of the time. A must see.
