Review of Let it Ride: The Craig Kelly story (2006) by A A — 02 Apr 2010
You don't need to be a fan of snowboarding to appreciate the incredible all-mountain footage of these top shelf athletes surfing in powder. Even purely as a documentary, this film recounts the historical origins of modern snowboarding incredibly well, right up to the talent known as Craig Kelly and his contemporaries.
These are people who went on to become household names, such as Jake Burton and Tom Sims. The cross-country rivalry between the two of them, the rise of snowboarding as an accepted mainstream athletic endeavor, and the key role that Craig Kelly played in it all, make up a compelling story that anyone can appreciate.
Big names from the 90's such as Pearl Jam and Metallica support with key roles on the film's soundtrack. Overall, a very pleasing movie experience!
