Review of Let It Ride (1989) by Mark S — 21 Nov 2007
I've seen a lot of movies. if you know my best friend, you may understand how into movies I and people I know are. Without a doubt, this is my favorite movie. I can never exactly express why, but something about this movie resonates with me.
The oddball collection of characters, the down on his luck main char, who begs god for one good day... and then the story or unfolding of that day. it's funny... it's corny-ily romantic/emotionally uplifting, and all around takes you for a ride and leaves you with a smile at the end of it.
favorite scene... is when richard dreyfus hits it big... and goes into a cursing fit "son of a bitch fucking whore... GOD LOVES ME....He really loves me!" ...the best. I ache for the opportunity to use that in life someday.
