I saw Let It Ride many years ago. Forgot how entertaining it was until I saw it again recently. Not gut-wrenchingly funny, just a feel good movie. I thought the premise of the movie was unusual (guy has a REALLY good day at the track) but everyone dreams of such things.

Dryefus pretty much carries the movie.

Robby Coltrane is great as the ticket seller. Its great to see how the relationshipe between Dreyfus and Coltrane develops throughout the film.

Jennifer Tilly (WOW - what a dress). Perfect for this role (ditzy, beautiful, peppy - but not pert).

The best line in the movie is when Tilly (amply built) sneaks up behind Dreyfus and puts her hands over his eyes and says... "Guess who".... Dreyfus' response is great... but you have to see the movie to know what he says.

Terri Garr's character was not well developed and the director could have done more with her talent.

This is an all around good movie. If you've ever dreamed of hitting it big at the track (or gambling in general) or just need a movie to pick up your spirits than this one is for you.
