Review of Let It Ride (1989) by Pamela D — 25 Jul 2010
I expected a superficial comedy, (which it is on one level) however Dreyfuss delivers a solid character performance,. The element that caught my eye in Let It Ride is a class bit of filmmaking at the climax in which the action turns to slow motion and the sound is cut to emphasize the gravity of fortunes and futures hinging on a photo finish.
It is not a unique or profound segment, but it is dramatically well done and the image is one which has stuck with me.
