At first, this movie appeared to be a tragic and twisted version of Ferris Beuller's Day Off and an absurd take on the lives of rich-kid screw-ups. It evolved into an extremely sentimental story, and Robert Downey Jr.
proves to be a gifted actor even in his early 20's.
