Review of Les Misérables (2012) by Margarita S — 22 May 2014

This is a movie that managed to nicely balance between musical and film worlds. It was majestically shot with just enough theatrical flair. Casting though wasâ?¦ questionable. Jackman is a great actor, but his singing is inconsistent.

At times, he falters and is unbearably off key. Seyfried sounds like she's inhaled helium and although Crowe hits his notes, he seems to do so in a monotone. Is that even physically possible? That said, Hathaway delivers an inspired performance, and the overall look and feel of the film certainly works.
