Review of Les Misérables (2012) by Dan P — 05 Jan 2016
Great performances by all but Rusty, who seems to be concentrating too hard on the singing to bother much with the acting, and is nowhere near as powerful a singer as the other leads anyway. The production is impressive in its use of close-ups and live-to-camera singing, but this movie will be remembered for its performances.
Jackman knocks it for six. SBC and HBC are fantastic. Seyfried, Redmayne and Barks all hold their own. Hathaway's Oscar was totally deserved - her big number gave me goosebumps.
