Review of Les Misérables (2012) by The Critic ( — 11 Jan 2015
Based on the popular stage production, 'Les Miserables' is a beautifully photographed piece, showcasing a solid cast and gorgeous score. Hugh Jackman and especially Anna Hathaway are outstanding; her rendition of 'I Dreamed a Dream' is the heartbreaking signature scene.
But the film runs far too long and its melancholic narrative might be a little too much for some to bare for such a mighty gestation.
