Review of Les Misérables (2012) by Robert K — 12 Dec 2015

Beautifully shot and wonderfully song, this musical is very well made and the singing dialogue is original, but I felt the film was very long and overdone. The story could've been more concise, the Thernadier's could've been much less obnoxious/flamboyant (made it difficult to take the film seriously) and some of the songs were drawn out.

Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfield all had great performances, the film just failed to keep my interest for its entirety. It couldn't maintain the grandure of its opening 15 minutes for the whole almost 3 hours.
