Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Rebekah T — 08 Aug 2008
The only reason I give this two stars and not one (or zero) is that it's a rather beautiful film if one watches it as a story that ISN'T Les Miserables. As an adaptation of Les Mis, however, the first part is passable (apart from the butchering of Javert) but the second half is completely and utterly trashed.
Majolras...? Cosette defeating Javert...? Ick.
