Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Ross W — 12 Mar 2009
I prefer the 1978 version, but Jean Valjean is better played by Neeson here. Ultimately, this movie was turned into too much of a melodrama, and strained all of Hugo's contemplative charm out of the story.
Still, it's never boring, and that's an advantage over Hugo.
