Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Steven G — 11 Jan 2010
Very well acted and put together. Very emotional and one of the best stories of all time. Liam Neeson continues to be one of my favorite actors of all time as he did a superb job of portraying Valjean. Overall the entire cast had brilliant chemistry although I didn't love Marius so much, he was alright and the rest of the cast made up for him but still, not astounding.
The only thing this misses is the music...
And since it's not a musical, this is justifiable, still I had to control myself from singing the parts of the songs to the part of the story we were at.
However this is my first time seeing any non musical adaptation, and I have not read the book (although I got it for Christmas and intend to read it soon) so it was very enlightening at parts to see the whole story of what was going on with plot in the musical.
I really enjoyed it and would even say it's worth owning, check it out for sure.
