Review of Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man (2006) by Marcelo G — 07 Jan 2009
My wife's the fan really - probably wouldn't have gone to see it if it hadn't been for her. Cohen comes over very well: articulate and intelligent. However, the music gets pretty well butchered by most of the contributors (of course, that is a matter of taste!) The only ones I really liked were Cohen himself, Antony and ... there was another one, but I can't remember which!
Did we learn anthing about the man? Well, the only thing I remember now (I saw this about a month ago) is that, during the interviews, just when you think he's about to lapse into cliché, he seems to be able to coin something fresh, ad lib.
