Review of Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man (2006) by Zac T — 24 May 2009
This, unfortunately, is not a very good documentary. The interviews are all fawning and the filmmaking/editing amateurish. I can see how, if one didn't already know and like Leonard Cohen, this movie might provoke a reflexive response in the opposite direction.
There are some good performances - Beth Orton and Rufus Wainwright, in particular. Cohen himself comes off as quite interesting and wise in his interviews, but they didn't make up nearly as much of the movie as they should have.
