Review of Léon: The Professional (1994) by Dylan M — 13 Nov 2015
Leon: The Professional is such an amazing beautiful movie and I think it is so well done. Luc Besson perfectly balances the right amount of action and emotion. Everything in The Professional is so smooth.
Right away learn a lot about our characters we get an intense action scene for the introduction of our hitman. Then as we get introduced to the character of Matilda , just from her first appearance in the film we already learn so much about her.
Overall Besson does a great job at developing his characters. Jean Reno and young Natalie Portman give great performances. They play very convincing and beleivebale roles And we have one my favorite actors of all time, Gary Oldman.
I love Gary Oldman in this film. He plays a great villain and is really fun to watch. The plot and sequence of events is very intriguing. The hitman trains the little girl across the hall to be a cleaner and ends up falling for him.
It's different and fun. Other side notes to add is how this movie is shot, the setting and score. We get beautiful shots through out the film and every camera angle is color and bright which makes this movie much more alive.
I love the setting of New York placed with a wonderful score Great action scenes, emotional ending, and a good time. The Professional is one of my favorite movies of all time.
