Review of Léon: The Professional (1994) by Sgt. C — 21 Sep 2014
(93%).
A sublime crime drama with a cold heart of pure gold. The mix of French charm and style with American cinema combine perfectly making this a truly different breed of film that just has to be admired. Jean Reno is perfect in the lead role (except for maybe the fact that he's clearly French and not even trying an Italian accent), Gary Oldman is one of the best film baddies ever, and Natalie Portman was destined to become a star after her fine performance. This is a true must-watch classic that should be counted amongst the all-time greats.
