Dustin Hoffman's brilliant performance as the real-life stand-up comedian Lenny Bruce is sharply scathing and arguably the best of his film career. No other actor could have done it as well as Hoffman portrayed the disturbingly frank and tormented artiste.
Hoffman deservedly earned an Academy Awards Best Actor Oscar Nomination.
