Review of Lenny (1974) by Justin M — 07 Jun 2010
I found Lenny to be a movie that was engrossing to watch, and then once turned off has little lasting effect. Hoffman does a terrific job (what a shock, huh) and this movie is just a terrific way to spend a couple of hours.
However, it does fall well short of what I'd consider to be a *great* film. It's an exemplary Best Picture nominee-- one that deserves that level of recognition, but one which wouldn't have really stood out as an actual winner.
