Fosse's direction and Hoffman's performance are absolute perfection! The black and white is beautifully gritty. Even the editing style is rough and kinda attacks the viewer. 'Lenny' has this raw, documentary feel to it that is matched in its power by Hoffman's portrayal of Lenny Bruce.
