Review of Lemming (2005) by Tommi N — 04 Oct 2007
Lemmings migrate, they do not commit suicide, they do attempt to swim rivers and lakes and drown from exhaustion. 'Lemming' is a film that plays on the received myth and the underlying truth. A 'model' young couple become embroiled in the marriage of the husband's boss, in the tragedy of it.
There's sex, murder and love. A greatly French movie, wonderfully shot, with an understated delivery. It has the mystery of Hannekke's 'Hidden', but the beating heart of Henry James' book 'The Turn of the Screw' (filmed in 1961 as 'The Innocents').
